Because of its strategic location, Mt. Samat served as a lighthouse to lookout for warships during the start of World War II. After suffering heavy losses against the Imperial Japanese Army all over Luzon, Filipino and American soldiers retreated to the Peninsula to regroup for a last valiant but futile stand. Today, I visit Mt. Samat, as a patriot, commemorating our dear soldiers' lives for the love of our country. #MountSamat #Philippines2018 🇵🇭
