Naghsh-e Jahan Square Isfahan,Iran Isfahan’s Naghsh-e Jahan Square or Imam square is one of the beautiful historical monuments in Iran. This square was built at the location of a garden named as Naghsh-e-Jahan during the first Shah Abbas government and on his order. The name of this garden is taken from a city in Azerbaijan, which is now named as Nakhichevan. The length of this square from the north to the south is more than 500 meters and its width is almost 165 meters. Before the time when Isfahan was chosen as the capital was Iran, at the location of this garden there was a big garden named as “Naghsh-e-Jahan” which was the location of government buildings and the Timurid and Agh-Ghoyoons’ kings’ castle.More information With Click the link in about my profile
